DVB-T2 Radio Network Planning Using PROGIRA® plan
DVB-T2 is the currently most advanced digital terrestrial television (DTT) system. It is much more flexible, robust, and efficient than any other DTT system.
Like its predecessor, DVB-T2 uses OFDM modulation, and offers a wide range of different modes, making it a very flexible standard. DVB-T2 is also offering a very robust signal by using LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) coding combined with BCH (Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquengham) coding. The number of carriers, guard interval sizes and pilot patterns can also be adjusted, so that the overheads can be optimised for any target transmission channel.
Below follows a screen shot of the DVB-T2 system parameters available in PROGIRA® plan. Planning methods and parameters is implemented according to EBU Tech 3348, see the following link http://tech.ebu.ch/docs/tech/tech3348.pdf.
